‘Compelling’ THE SURVIVORS, by Jane Harper #bookreview #whattoread #mustread @janeharper

Jane Harper has become a firm favourite of mine. Her psychological thrillers don’t simply have twists and turns, they have authentic characters and real emotions driving them.

The Survivors is another class act, telling the compelling tale of murder in a small seaside resort, and how it stirs up past traumas for all involved. I couldn’t stop thinking about it when I wasn’t reading it, wondering what had happened all those years ago and how it linked with what was going on now.

The pacing was perfect, and I particularly liked the fact the main character was traumatised but strong, rather than a wreck.

Another thing I always admire about this author is her ability to describe surroundings in such a way as I feel I’m there, with the sun warming me, and the salt of the sea on my lips. A must read!

DESCRIPTION:

A body on a beach.

Secrets that have been waiting to be uncovered for 12 years.
