Review: A PUG LIKE PERCY, Fiona Harrison

"The perfect read to give you a warm fuzzy feeling on a cold winter’s night"

THEY SAY

A furry festive miracle who’s there for you with a helping paw. Percy definitely isn’t just for Christmas…

Percy is homeless, abandoned by his owner at an animal rescue centre on a cold winter’s night. So when he finds a loving new home with Gail and her family, his deepest wish is that this time, it’s forever.

Gail hopes that Percy will be the little miracle that her family so desperately needs. Her young daughter, Jenny, is in and out of hospital and she’s only just holding things together with her husband, Simon.

With the family at breaking point, and Christmas just around the corner, is Percy the furry friend they’ve all been waiting for?

I SAY

Anyone who knows anything about me knows how much I love dogs. I’ve always had them, and am the very proud owner of Scamp, a cockerpoo so full of well-intentioned mischief that I have no doubt she could give Percy the Pug a run for his money. And what a fabulous character Percy is! It’s impossible not to fall in love with him.

The book is told from Percy’s point of view, as he finds his forever home after a stint in Battersea Dogs Home. He quickly realizes that he can repay his debt of gratitude to his new family by helping them out…and of course much fun ensues as a result!

If there’s one thing dogs are experts on, it’s love, because they are so full of it. And Percy is no exception. It’s his job to help parents Gail and Simon find the love and laughter in their family once more, as they struggle with their daughter’s illness.

The author, Fiona Harrison, has created such a strong character here. Percy is utterly irresistible, and I couldn’t help laughing out loud as I read.

This fun, entertaining book is the perfect read to give you a warm fuzzy feeling on a cold winter’s night. Go on, snuggle up with Percy!
